California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform

Maintains information on all 1,400-plus nursing homes in California, including profiles of services, citations, complaints and deficiencies, as well as lists of nursing homes by county. The data comes from two sources: violations and certification data from the Department of Health Services ACLAIMS data system, and questionnaires sent by CANHR directly to facilities for information on services.

Provides information about the California Paid Family Leave Law. Beginning July 2004, California Workers may receive up to six weeks of paid leave per year to care for a new child or seriously ill family member.

Employment Development Department: Paid Family Leave Program

Provides information about Paid Family Leave, which entitles working Californians to benefits from State Disability Insurance when they miss work to care for a seriously ill family member, or bond with a newborn, adopted or foster child. The benefits are approximately half of the employee's usual wages.
