Mental Health Hall of Fame
The San Diego Mental Health Hall of Fame is comprised of recipients of two mental health community awards:
Mental Health Person of the Year Award
This annual award was created by the Mental Health Recognition Dinner Committee to honor an individual who has made outstanding contributions of time and effort to bettering the lives of persons with mental illness. The committee makes the selection based on recommendations from the community. The first award was presented in 1987, and the event has since become an annual tradition. Dan Reese Award
This award was created in remembrance of Dan Reese, who passed away in late 1995. A dedicated supporter of the mental health community, he received the 1993 Mental Health Person of the Year Award and was honored in 1996 with the first Dan Reese Award. Each year, the mental health community honors a mental health consumer with this award for outstanding achievement. To read the list of recipients, please click here.
