Provides parents and caregivers with tools and specific instructions on how to manage the behavior of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), focusing on the common behaviors that are a concern for parents with ADD/ADHD children. Effective parenting skills are taught, enabling parents to manage the behavior of their child and to redirect their behavior when it is self-destructive, manipulative, or creating havoc for other children in their presence. Topics include the difference between stress and ADD, the characteristic behaviors of children with ADD, and the challenges of behavior management. Parents are also given techniques to help ADD/ADHD children manage their own behavior. The format includes lecture, discussion, videos, and handouts. A children's program is included, separate from the adult program that focuses on anger and self-esteem.
