Traveling Stories | Literacy Training at the StoryTent, El Cajon

Information provided by: County of San Diego Mental Health Services

Traveling Stories provides literacy training and support through a rewards system proven effective on even the most reluctant reader. A "StoryTent" is set up weekly, in this case, in front of the El Cajon Library. Children are encouraged to read by themselves, out loud with a volunteer, or volunteers can read to your child if they're not yet reading on their own. For every book read, children are awarded 1 "book-buck" which they can redeem for prizes.
