Reach Out is a unique public-service program that links San Diego County residents with a medical need and no health-care coverage with appropriate care. A full-service referral agency that primarily serves the working poor, callers are linked to primary care physicians, specialists, and ancillary services (vision, dental, counseling, etc.) after an assessment is made to determine the client is not eligible for coverage through other programs, such as County Medical Services, Medi-Cal, Veteran's Benefits, or Healthy Families. Physicians and other providers in the Reach Out network discount their fees, which are paid by the patient at the time of the appointment. Reach Out, the safety net of safety nets for the uninsured and underinsured, has been formally endorsed by and works closely with the San Diego County Medical Society. Reach Out is primarily funded by grants and private donations and does not charge for its services. Click here for more information. To talk to a Reach Out Intake Specialist for referrals and assistance, call 858-467-1893 or 619-299-2133.
