Provides social, recreational and educational services for residents who are seniors or who have specific needs. Offers specialized information and referrals to businesses and services for seniors, recreational services, including classes and social activities, health and wellness education and programs, such as a monthly healthy aging forum and an annual flu shot clinic. Medical equipment loans on a short term basis, such as wheelchairs and walkers for seniors. Offers a shared housing program to match home providers looking to rent rooms to tenants in exchange for rental payments and/or services for reduced rent or no rent payments. Potential tenants undergo a criminal and credit screening, and home providers must live in the city of Del Mar. Administers the Del Mar Rental Assistance Program, a rental subsidy program designed to assist low income individuals and families.
