Offers free car seats to low income, active military, or refugee women who are at least 8 months pregnant and families with children up to the age of 9 (depending on weight limitations). In addition, the center offers car seat safety classes, installations, court referred child passenger traffic safety classes and car seat safety check-up events at select areas throughout San Diego County.

  • Eligibility Requirements:Services are limited to low income, active military, or refugee women who are at least 8 months pregnant and families with children up to the age of 9 (depending on weight limitations). Car seats will be provided to those whose income is at or below 200% Federal Poverty Income Guidelines and attend a two hour safety class.. Birth Certificate;Proof of Income;Proof of government assistance programs;Photo ID. 1. Pregnant women must be at least 7.5 months pregnant to register for the class and 8 months pregnant to receive a car seat. 2. Must attend a two hour safety class first before receiving a free car seat.
