Offers Covered California and Medi-Cal enrollment assistance during the Covered California open enrollment cycle. After the end of open enrollment cycle, application assistance is available for Medi-Cal eligible and Covered California qualifying events including: getting married, having a baby or adopting a child, moving to California from another state or from a different county, gaining legal status/naturalized citizenship, losing other health care coverage that is considered minimum essential coverage, a change in income that makes a client eligible to transition to another type of insurance coverage (e.g. from Covered California to Medi-Cal and vice versa). Please note: If denied for Medi-Cal coverage, person can apply for Covered California through out the year because that is considered a qualifying event.

To enroll in Covered California outside of "open enrollment" time, client has 60 days from the qualifying event, such as getting married, having a baby or adopting a child, moving to California from another state, losing other health care coverage that is considered minimum essential coverage, a change in income that would make a client eligible for their current type of insurance coverage.
