Program is an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model providing services to individuals in the community that include intensive case management, psychiatric care, vocational services, and integrated services for mental health & substance abuse issues.

  • Eligibility Requirements:Ages 18 years and older with a serious psychiatric condition, history of repeated psychiatric hospitalizations or emergency psychiatric interventions, are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in South Bay, San Diego, and who may also have a co-occurring disorder.. Birth Certificate;SS Card. Please provide Social Security number and birth certificate if available. Referrals may be initiated by a social service provider/professional or a concerned family member by calling the program directly or by fax.

Helpless to Object

Intensive case management of seriously mentally ill drug addicts who are left to their own devices to live in the community with no direct supervision are extremely dangerous on a daily 24/7 basis . To expect community members and immeadiate neighbors to support and supervise chronically ill and often violently offending addicts / mentally ill , in liew of constant direct medical supervision i.e. supervised living facilities , is a gross misjudgement of a patient's ability to administer themselves and see to 'taking' their own medication , and being 'clean' off illegal narcotics longer than the 3 days off drugs it takes to pass a drug test once a month . Definitely understaffed . While staff and administration may be highly skilled , trained , and viable in the clinical application of the 'program' , the real world expectations of psciatric patient drug addicts ( use of methamphetamine being the prime culprit ), to live alone , responsibly , to community and those who
