• Eligibility Requirements:Unable to assist individuals who lost their Section 8 voucher or other subsidized housing due to non-payment. Adults 18 and older and their families. Can only assist newly homeless households with loss of household occurring less than one month ago. Must currently be living in the City of San Diego zip codes beginning with digits 921 (excluding 92118) or in the 92037 zip code. Household must have a plan to become self-sufficient after one-time assistance ends. Household incomes less than 80% of AMI. Assets – For the purpose of this program, we will use the term “available assets” which is any ownership of cash or of an item that will be converted to cash immediately. The available asset must not exceed $2,000. A vehicle is not included as an asset when it is the primary vehicle. Income no more than 80% AMI. Please see breakdown below. One person- $59,950 Two persons- $68,500 Three persons- $77,050 Four persons- $85,600 Five persons- $92,450 Six persons- $99,300. Proof of identification;Proof of Income. Call the Housing First Hotline and ask to be pre-screened.. If you are a veteran that is interested please call the Hotline. Although staff will be trained to administer the VI-SPDAT the veteran can go to any assessment site and get the VI-SPDAT.
